Clinical Interventions

At Jade Recovery, we strive to offer a different type of treatment. As you’ll see, the scope of our services, goals, and programs is extensive. Below is a brief summary of the Jade difference.

Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT)

Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) is an Evidence-based practiced that is recognized by both the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) and the National Institute of Drug Abuse. RPT provides effective and easy to use methods for identifying and managing early relapse warning signs and high risk situations.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a specific type of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy developed in the late 1980s by psychologist Marsha M. Linehan to help better treat borderline personality disorder. Since its development, it has also been used for the treatment of other kinds of mental health disorders. Dialectical behavior therapy skills for emotion regulation include:

  • Learning to properly identify and label emotions
  • Identifying obstacles to changing emotions
  • Reducing vulnerability to “emotion mind”
  • Increasing positive emotional events
  • Increasing mindfulness to current emotions
  • Taking opposite action
  • Applying distress tolerance techniques

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on how cognitions, emotions, and behavior relate to each other and how changing the way an individual evaluates a situation can change the behavioral reaction. It can also be applied by initially implementing behavioral changes which will lead to an eventual change in cognitive processes. Through challenging cognitive distortions, one can recognize and change they behavior.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

With the support of specially trained clinicians who provide targeted trauma treatment such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in individual therapy sessions. CPT is evidence-based and has been proven to effectively treat individuals struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. CPT aims to retrain the brain to think differently about the traumatic event.  All too often with post-traumatic stress disorder, the witness takes on the blame for the outcome of the traumatic occurrence.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

With the support of specially trained clinicians who provide targeted trauma treatment such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in individual therapy sessions. CPT is evidence-based and has been proven to effectively treat individuals struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. CPT aims to retrain the brain to think differently about the traumatic event.  All too often with post-traumatic stress disorder, the witness takes on the blame for the outcome of the traumatic occurrence.

Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT)

Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT), a computer-based cognitive rehabilitation training program for patients with memory, processing speed, or executive planning deficits, is a series of game-like “brain training” exercises based on science that helps people think more clearly and quickly. It is especially helpful with untreated mental illnesses and has been shown to protect and improve cognitive functioning. Groups are run multiple times a week to address impairments in cognitive functioning associated with the effects of unaddressed mental health and substance use disorders.

    Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)

MAT therapy is used in combination with counseling services to treat the “whole” person and provide stability so patient’s can address issues antagonizing their sobriety. Research has shown that MAT interventions along with therapy can help stabilize those at high risk for relapse and help maintain long term recovery. FDA approved MAT interventions include:

    • Buprenorphine
    • Naloxone

    Genetic Testing

Jade offers genetic testing to clients upon admission. We reserve this testing for those who need medication to aid in recovery but have struggled to find the correct, effective medicine and dose.  Administered by an oral swab, the test helps to offer insight into an individual’s response to different medications based on their genetic makeup.  Genetic testing can indicate how an individual metabolizes certain medications, which ones are a better fit, and which ones can cause unwanted side effects. The test can also detect genetic variations which might otherwise go undetected.
